Suave Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil Review

Promotes hair growth, repairs split ends, conditions hair, tames frizz, and provides intense moisture – all these benefits for your tresses can be delivered by argan oil. With all these incredible benefits, it’s unsurprising why this “liquid gold” is a key ingredient in thousands of hair care products in the market. One of these is Suave Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil.

    Suave Styling Oil Bottle

Suave Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil is a part of the most loved professional hair care line, Suave, which consists of styling oil, shine shampoo & conditioner, color care shampoo & conditioner, and deep conditioning shine mask. It also promises a weightless texture for a non-greasy finish. It is specially designed to revive your dull hair. Its ultra-light formula instantly conditions without weighing your hair down as it treats each strand for long-lasting, silky shine.

This professional hair care line claims to have authentic Moroccan argan oil as one of its main ingredients. With argan oil, hair will not only look good, but healthy too. This has been proven in history when the Berbers of Africa started using it. If you want to know more on how argan oil results to healthy hair, you may want to read this next page:

    The Packaging

I ordered this product online and received the package on time. The first thing I checked is if it has dents on its packaging and if it was properly sealed. Luckily, it was. The product is also covered with a bubble wrap. It does not have any signs of spillage or damage.

Suave Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil has a very attractive packaging. It has a sturdy, light gold bottle that resembles the upper half of an hourglass. It was an upgraded look from its former design, which was a slim, straight cut plastic bottle. I would have preferred a dark colored amber glass bottle because it can preserve the oil’s properties better and protect it from damage that is often caused by direct sunlight.

In terms of aesthetics, I liked the new design better. However, for efficiency, the slim bottle looked easier to carry around and slip into my bag anytime. Speaking of convenience, I am glad the new design preserved the black plastic pump top of the old one. This made the styling oil easier to dispense and control.

Unlike pure Moroccan argan oils, there are no organic claims and certifications indicated at Suave Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil’s bottle. This is not surprising because the product’s ingredient list clearly specified that it contains a few chemical components.

Some of its chemical ingredients that may have a negative side effect are Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, and Fragrance.

Silicones are notorious for giving your hair a fake shine and healthy appearance. Eventually, it can coat the hair, which causes buildups that leave hair weighed down, dull, and lifeless.

Fragrance, on the other hand, can contain toxic chemicals that may be bad for your health. Companies are allowed not to disclose the list of ingredients to its fragrance formula so that it cannot be replicated easily. This means there is no way to tell what sort of chemicals are in there.

    The Product

Suave Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil claims to have a “luxurious smell”. I think that will vary based on personal preferences. In my case, I smelled a moderate combination of vanilla and a hint of amber scent. Argan oil products should not smell like this, especially pure ones. It did not really suit my fragrance taste but it smelled subtle when applied to hair.

In terms of consistency, Suave Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil promises a lightweight and non-greasy formula for all hair types. To test these claims I applied a pump of oil on my palms first. In contrast to its bright gold-colored packaging, the oil has an almost clear, very subtle color. It is paler compared to other argan oil products I have tried. True to its word, it felt light and glided smoothly on my skin. Despite its thin texture, a little amount can go a long way. Although it can be little greasy when you put too much, it goes away immediately if you massage it continuously.

For my locks, I also massaged a little amount of oil on my hands and ran it through the ends of my hair.  My hair easily absorbed the treatment without leaving any oily residue. It instantly made my strands look softer and shinier.

    Product’s Effectiveness

I have a long hair with fine and brittle strands. That’s why when it comes to hair care products, I always choose products that can repair, rebuild, and rehydrate my hair strands. I always need to moisturize in order to keep it healthy and glowing. I often used conditioners, leave-in treatments, and hair oils. However, my frequent problem with styling oils is it runs the risk of making my hair look limp and flat. Nonetheless, I tried using Suave Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil for a month.

Back View of a girl with long blonde hair

I added Suave Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil to my usual hair care routine. After washing and conditioning, I added two to three pumps of oil on my palms and massaged it through my damp hair. I suggest applying it from ends to mid-length to avoid oily scalp. It is always wiser to start with a small amount until you know exactly how much your hair needs. You can always apply more once you get the hang of it. I let it air dry as usual. The most remarkable result for me was it did not weigh my hair down. My hair strands looked less frazzled, but its volume remained. It also left a silky and healthy looking hair with a dreamlike luster. Aside from this, here’s how I often used this styling oil:

    • For Heat Protection

I also used Suave Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil as a treatment before styling my hair with flat iron. Instead of making my hair feel “fried”, it coated and protected my strands from the heat of hair styling tools.

    • For Wig and Hair Extensions

Yes! It can work wonders even on fake hair strands. Since I have a fine and dry hair, I am fond of wearing hair extensions when I wanted to sport longer and luscious locks. Hair extensions can be hard to manage and detangle. Applying a few pumps on them can help tame minor frizz and make the strands easier to comb and style.

Lastly, it also has a generous quantity. I have been using Suave Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil for a month and I am not even halfway through the bottle.

    Conclusion

Overall, Suave Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil had delivered immediate results for my hair. It felt instantly softer, shinier, and healthier. I would not recommend it to people with thick and frizzy hair though. While it did a good job in moisturizing, it needed more power to control and tame hair frizz.

My only concern with this product is, as stated on its ingredient list, it contains chemical ingredients like silicones and fragrance.

While I loved the effect Suave Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil did on my hair, I am not sure whether to repurchase it or not. As a fan of natural hair care products, I do not think Suave Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil suits my standards for everyday use.

On the lighter side, Suave Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil can be a handy product for occasional hair styling. Using it in moderation will not be too harsh for your hair. Plus, it can be a lighter substitute for hair gels and hair mousse. Gels have the tendency to be too heavy and mousse may be too sticky and flaky for your hair.
